U.N. Standards for Dry and Dried Produce

INC participated in the 64th Session of the U.N. Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Specialized Section on Standardization of Dry and Dried Produce, held in Genera, Switzerland, July 5-7, 2017, represented by Mr. Pino Calcagni, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Scientific and Government Affairs Committee, and Dr. Ana Bermejo, Food Safety and Law Specialist.
 
Member States reviewed the existing Standards for Walnut Kernels and Inshell Almonds, the Explanatory Brochure for Walnut Kernels, and the new standards for Dried Coconut Pieces, Dried Bananas and Dried Papaya. The Specialized Section also discussed the Sampling Plan for Tree Nuts and Dried Produce and revised the explanatory poster for Dried Apricots, Inshell Walnuts and Pistachios. In addition the alignment of the standard for Prunes was also discussed.
