EU: Organic Regulation

Member States and the European Commission have agreed to postpone the application of the new Organic Regulation by one year (from January 1, 2022), according to the European Federation of the Trade in Dried Fruit & Edible Nuts, Processed Fruit & Vegetables, Processed Fishery products, Spices, Honey (FRUCOM).

The application of the Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2018, on organic production and labeling of organic products and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007, will be postponed by one year and it shall apply from January 1, 2022, instead of January 1, 2021. To do so, the Commission will have to present a legal proposal introducing such change.
