
The Recommendation establishes that Member States should monitor regularly the presence of acrylamide and its levels in food, in particular in the food listed in the Annex (roasted nuts, roasted oilseed and dried fruits are included). The data collected through the monitoring activities should be transmitted to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) by October 1 of each year.
It is appropriate that competent authorities and food business operators monitor the presence of acrylamide in food in view of the adoption of possible risk management measures.
