
EU: Ochratoxin A and Hydrocyanic Acid
In recent news from the European Federation of the Trade in Dried Fruit & Edible Nuts, Processed Fruit & Vegetables, Processed Fishery products, Spices, Honey (FRUCOM), the European Commission started discussions with the Members States on possible maximum levels for ochratoxin A in dried vine fruit, dried figs, other dried fruit including dates, and pistachios, and for hydrocyanic acid in almonds.

SQF Edition 9, Effective May 24
In October 2020, the Global Food Safety Institute (GFSI) released the latest edition of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Code for audits, a tool intended to support food safety management practice. Edition 9 will be implemented on May 24, 2021.
